Bengaluru: Students planning to pursue an MBA in the 2026-27 academic session can explore the Bangalore University MBA programme at GIBS Business School, which combines university-level management education with practical learning through projects, internships, presentations, case studies and business simulations.

The two-year MBA programme is divided into four semesters, covering foundational management concepts, core business functions, strategic management, specialisation subjects and project work. The programme is open to students from different academic backgrounds, including Commerce, Management, Engineering, Science and Humanities.

GIBS MBA Course Structure

The first semester focuses on the fundamentals of management and business. Major areas include Organisational Behaviour, Managerial Accounting, Economics for Managers, Business Statistics and Business Environment and Public Policy.

The fourth semester focuses on advanced studies, international business, specialisation electives and practical application. Students are also required to complete project or dissertation work followed by a viva voce and project presentation.

Students can explore specialisation areas including Finance Management, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, BFSI, Business Analytics, Healthcare Management, Start-ups and SME Management, and Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

Each specialisation focuses on different career areas. For instance, Finance and BFSI are suited to students interested in financial services, while Business Analytics focuses on data-driven decision-making. Marketing covers areas such as branding, sales and digital marketing, whereas HR focuses on recruitment, employee development and organisational management.
