New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the last date for submitting affiliation applications through the SARAS 7.0 portal for the 2027-28 academic session. Schools seeking fresh affiliation, upgradation, extension, or other related approvals can now submit their applications until September 30, 2026.
According to the board, the extension has been granted to provide schools with additional time to complete the online application process and upload the required documents. The move is expected to benefit institutions that were unable to meet the earlier deadline.
The School Affiliation Re-Engineered Automation System (SARAS) 7.0 is CBSE's online platform for managing affiliation-related services. Schools can use the portal to apply for new affiliations, request upgrades, renew existing affiliations, and submit other mandatory applications.
CBSE has advised schools to carefully review the eligibility criteria, complete all required formalities, and ensure that supporting documents are uploaded before the revised deadline. Incomplete applications or those submitted after the closing date may not be considered for processing.
School authorities are also encouraged to regularly monitor the official CBSE website and the SARAS 7.0 portal for notifications, updated guidelines, and any further announcements related to the affiliation process.
The extension provides schools with an opportunity to complete their applications without last-minute delays and ensures adequate time for institutions preparing for affiliation under the 2027-28 academic session.
Interested schools should complete the application process well before September 30, 2026, to avoid technical issues or heavy traffic on the portal during the final days of registration.
