New Delhi: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) will commence the CLAT 2027 registration process on August 4, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Eligible candidates seeking admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes can submit their applications through the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in, until October 31, 2026.

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2027 is scheduled to be held on December 6, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at examination centres across the country. Candidates are advised to complete the application process well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues.

CLAT 2027 Exam Date and Admit Card

According to the official schedule, the CLAT 2027 examination will be conducted in offline mode on December 6, 2026. Based on previous years' practice, admit cards are expected to be released approximately two weeks before the examination on the official website.

Applicants should regularly check the official portal for updates regarding admit card release, examination centres, and other important announcements.

No Changes in CLAT 2027 Syllabus and Exam Pattern

The Consortium has confirmed that there will be no changes to the CLAT 2027 syllabus or exam pattern.

The examination will consist of 120 comprehension-based multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering the following five sections:

The examination will continue to assess candidates' analytical, reasoning, and reading comprehension skills through passage-based questions.

Expert Committee to Review CLAT Examination

The Consortium has also constituted an Expert Committee to review various aspects of the CLAT examination, including question quality, paper structure, and syllabus. Wherever feasible, the recommendations made in the Expert Committee Report 2026 will be considered while preparing the CLAT 2027 examination.

Students, legal education experts, and members of the public can submit their suggestions through the online feedback form available on the official website until August 31, 2026.

CLAT 2027 Application Fee

Candidates are required to pay the prescribed application fee while submitting the online application.

Applications will be considered complete only after successful payment of the registration fee.

How to Apply for CLAT 2027

Candidates can complete the CLAT 2027 application process by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official website: consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

  2. Click on the CLAT 2027 Registration/Login link.

  3. Select New Registration and create an account using your mobile number and email ID.

  4. Verify your account using the OTP received on your registered mobile number.

  5. Fill in the application form with the required personal, academic, and communication details.

  6. Select your preferred examination centres.

  7. Upload the necessary documents in the prescribed format.

  8. Pay the application fee online and submit the form.

  9. Download and save the confirmation page for future reference.

About CLAT 2027

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national-level entrance examination conducted for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes offered by 26 National Law Universities (NLUs) across India.

CLAT 2027 scores will be used for admission to five-year integrated LLB programmes and one-year LLM programmes for the 2027-28 academic session. Several other universities, law schools, and public sector organisations also accept CLAT scores for admissions and recruitment.
