New Delhi: In a significant relief for students who could not secure admission through CUET UG 2026, the University of Delhi (DU) has granted a one-time relaxation allowing two affiliated colleges to admit eligible candidates based on their Class 12 board examination marks. The move aims to fill vacant undergraduate seats for the 2026–27 academic session.
The two colleges permitted to offer DU admission without CUET 2026 are Aditi Mahavidyalaya and Bhagini Nivedita College. The decision has been taken to fill undergraduate seats that remained vacant even after multiple rounds of admissions conducted through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal.
According to university officials, the special admission window is a one-time measure aimed at filling vacant undergraduate seats for the 2026–27 academic session.
Despite this relaxation, the university has clarified that CUET UG will continue to remain the primary mode of admission for undergraduate programmes across all other Delhi University colleges. The exemption applies only to the two colleges that received special approval from the university.
Bhagini Nivedita College has started accepting offline applications from eligible candidates seeking admission to undergraduate programmes.
Students can apply for admission to courses such as:
Bachelor of Arts (BA)
Bachelor of Commerce (BCom)
Bachelor of Science (BSc)
The college has asked interested candidates to submit their application forms by August 5, 2026.
Aditi Mahavidyalaya has also received permission to admit students based on Class 12 marks.
According to the college administration:
Admissions will be conducted for 40% of the vacant undergraduate seats.
A merit list will be prepared based on candidates' Class 12 board examination marks.
Document verification will take place on August 6 and August 7, 2026.
Selected candidates must complete the admission fee payment on the designated dates to confirm their seats.
The University of Delhi introduced this special provision after several undergraduate seats remained vacant despite multiple rounds of CUET UG counselling through the CSAS admission portal.
The move is intended to ensure that vacant seats are filled before the commencement of the new academic session while providing another opportunity to eligible students who could not secure admission through the regular counselling process.
Students interested in applying under this special admission window should:
Check the admission notification issued by Aditi Mahavidyalaya or Bhagini Nivedita College.
Ensure they meet the eligibility criteria for the desired programme.
Submit the application before the prescribed deadline.
Carry all required original documents for verification.
Complete the admission fee payment within the stipulated timeline if selected.
Students seeking DU Admission 2026 should note that this special relaxation is applicable only to Aditi Mahavidyalaya and Bhagini Nivedita College. Admissions to all other Delhi University colleges will continue through CUET UG 2026 and the CSAS portal. Eligible candidates are advised to complete the admission process within the prescribed timeline and regularly check the respective college websites for further updates.
