New Delhi: The University of Delhi (DU) has announced that 61,932 candidates have successfully confirmed their undergraduate admissions by paying the required fees under the first round of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) 2026.
The latest figures show a significant rise in admissions compared to the previous update. As of 7:00 PM on July 20, only 45,316 applicants had completed the admission process. The sharp increase in confirmed admissions came as candidates rushed to complete the fee payment before the deadline.
Earlier, the university had reported that over 81,900 candidates had accepted the undergraduate seats allotted to them in the first round, highlighting strong participation in the admission process for the 2026-27 academic session.
The University of Delhi released the first CSAS allocation list last week, allotting seats to 93,033 candidates against more than 71,000 undergraduate seats available across 221 academic programmes offered by 67 affiliated colleges.
The allocations were made from a pool of over 2.08 lakh applicants who completed Phase II of the admission process by submitting their preferred colleges and programmes through the CSAS portal.
Candidates can check their seat allotment status by following these steps:
Visit the official DU UG admission portal.
Click on the 'Candidate Login' option.
Enter your CUET UG 2026 application number, password, and security captcha.
Click on 'Login'.
Open the 'Allotment Status' section to view the allotted college and programme.
Download and save the allotment letter for future reference.
Students who have accepted their allotted seats in the first round will have the opportunity to participate in the upgrade process during the subsequent CSAS rounds. This allows candidates to be considered for a higher-preference college or programme based on seat availability.
According to the admission schedule, the DU UG CSAS Round 2 allocation list will be released on July 25, 2026. The new academic session for undergraduate courses is scheduled to commence on July 28, 2026.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the official DU admission portal for the latest updates regarding seat allotment, admission deadlines, and counselling schedules.
