New Delhi: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) closes the IGNOU July Re-Registration 2026 window today for students enrolled in its Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online Programmes. Existing students who wish to continue their studies in the upcoming semester or academic year must complete the re-registration process through the official IGNOU Re-Registration Portal before the deadline. 

According to the latest update, IGNOU July Re-Registration 2026 is mandatory for all continuing students. Candidates can re-register for undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate programmes offered through both ODL and Online modes.

Failure to complete the re-registration process before the deadline may affect course registration for the upcoming academic session. 

IGNOU July Re-Registration 2026: Important Instructions

IGNOU has instructed students opting for Online Programmes to ensure they have access to a computer or laptop with a stable internet connection, as online courses require digital learning. The university has also clarified that printed study material is not provided for online programmes.

Students who prefer receiving study material in the traditional distance learning format can opt for ODL (Open and Distance Learning) programmes, wherever applicable.

How to Apply for IGNOU July Re-Registration 2026 

Students can complete the online re-registration process by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official IGNOU Online Re-Registration portal.

  2. Select the Re-Registration option on the homepage.

  3. Log in using your IGNOU User ID, password, and security PIN.

  4. Fill in the re-registration form and select the courses for the upcoming semester or academic year.

  5. Pay the applicable re-registration fee using the available online payment options.

  6. Submit the application form.

  7. Download and save the confirmation receipt for future reference.

IGNOU Recently Conducted PhD Admissions 

Earlier this month, IGNOU also conducted admissions for 36 PhD programmes for the July 2026 session. The admission process covered disciplines such as Political Science, Public Administration, Psychology, Anthropology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, and several other subjects.

As the re-registration window closes today, eligible students are advised to complete the process without delay and save a copy of the application confirmation and payment receipt for future reference.
