The two institutions have signed an agreement to strengthen learning, awareness and capacity building on issues affecting women. The newly introduced courses are designed to provide learners with practical knowledge that can be useful in both personal and professional settings.
Under the partnership, IGNOU and NCW have introduced three micro-credential courses:
POSH – Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace
Women’s Leadership, Capacity Building & Workplace Behaviour
Gender Sensitisation: Society and Culture
The courses cover areas related to workplace safety, leadership, professional behaviour, gender equality and social awareness.
The Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace (POSH) course is designed to help learners understand issues related to workplace safety and sexual harassment prevention.
The course aims to promote awareness of respectful and safe working environments while helping learners understand the importance of appropriate workplace conduct.
The Women’s Leadership, Capacity Building & Workplace Behaviour course focuses on leadership development, capacity building, professional growth and workplace behaviour.
The course aims to support women in strengthening their participation and leadership in professional spaces by developing relevant skills and awareness.
The Gender Sensitisation: Society and Culture course will examine gender-related issues from social and cultural perspectives.
It is intended to help learners develop a better understanding of gender equality, social attitudes and concerns related to gender, while promoting greater awareness of the challenges faced by women and other sections of society.
The partnership between IGNOU and NCW will also focus on areas including legal and constitutional awareness, women’s empowerment, digital and cyber safety, leadership development, research and gender sensitisation.
Through the collaboration, the two institutions aim to promote practical learning and greater awareness about women’s rights, safety and participation in society and the workplace.
The launch of the three micro-credential courses is part of the broader effort to strengthen education and capacity building around issues concerning women. The courses are expected to provide learners with knowledge and skills that can contribute to safer workplaces, stronger leadership and greater awareness of gender-related concerns.
