The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has accused Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University (SRMU) of operating multiple academic programmes without valid regulatory recognition, alleging systemic lapses that could jeopardise the careers of enrolled students.
In a statement, the student body said key professional courses at SRMU have been running despite expired or withdrawn approvals from statutory bodies.
It claimed that the university’s five-year integrated Bachelor of Architecture programme lost recognition from the Council of Architecture in the 2021–22 academic session.
The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course, ABVP alleged, has been without National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) accreditation since 2016–17.
More recently, the Pharmacy Council of India reportedly withdrew its approval for both B.Pharma and D.Pharma programmes for the 2024–25 session.
ABVP further alleged that several other courses were also being offered without mandatory recognition. It described the situation as a reflection of “corruption and negligence” within the university’s administration, calling for “immediate and strict action” against SRMU.
The organization stressed that its intervention is aimed at safeguarding students from securing degrees that may lack legal and professional validity.
“This is about protecting the future of thousands of students who may be left in limbo if corrective measures are not taken swiftly,” the group said.
