IIM Ahmedabad’s Post Graduate Programme in Management (MBA-PGP) Class of
2025 has delivered one of its strongest placement cycles yet, reporting a mean
first-year cash salary of ₹35.5 lakh and a median of ₹34.59 lakh, according to
the institute’s audited placement report under Indian Placement Reporting
Standards (IPRS).
A total of 406 graduating students participated
in the process, with 395 accepting offers from 178 recruiters that collectively
provided 261 distinct roles. The cycle, audited by B2K Analytics, confirms the
institute’s commitment to transparency and data accuracy.
Consulting
and finance lead the charge
Consulting and finance roles dominated campus recruitment this year.
Consulting alone accounted for 154 offers, led by Boston Consulting Group (35
offers including pre-placement offers), Accenture Strategy (31 offers), and
Bain & Company (17 offers). The Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance
(BFSI) sector made 99 offers, marking a 13.7% rise in net finance roles.
Strategy positions surged nearly 33% compared with last year.
Sector participation was broad, spanning
consumer goods, e-commerce, conglomerates, technology, and healthcare. Over 25
new recruiters joined the campus drive, expanding industry reach and role
diversity.
Student-centric
policies drive choice
IIM Ahmedabad continued its “Dream Application” policy, which allows
students to apply for preferred sectors and roles. This year, 154 dream
applications were submitted, reflecting growing student agency in the
recruitment process.
Salary
metrics highlight first-year cash potential
The institute reports salaries using Maximum Earning Potential (MEP), a
measure reflecting actual first-year cash compensation. Domestic placements
ranged from under ₹17 lakh to a record ₹1.10 crore, with the median fixed cash
component at ₹25.31 lakh. International placements were limited, with only two
students accepting roles in Dubai. One-time joining bonuses further bolstered
total guaranteed compensation, particularly in consulting and BFSI.
Laterals,
entrepreneurship, and emerging opportunities
About 59% of the batch qualified for lateral placements, enabling mid-career
transitions. Companies such as BrowserStack, Mastercard, Myntra, and Zomato
participated in this round. Two students opted for entrepreneurship through the
IlMAvericks Fellowship, which offers mentoring and financial support.
Reinforcing
confidence and transparency
The report underscores sustained recruiter confidence and robust demand for IIM Ahmedabad graduates. With audited reporting under IPRS, wide sectoral participation, and the Dream Application mechanism, the institute has maintained placement quality while ensuring students have choice, transparency, and access to high-value roles.
