After weeks of uncertainty, medical aspirants may finally get clarity on the
NEET PG 2025 counselling process. The Federation of All India Medical
Associations (FAIMA) has indicated that counselling is likely to commence by
mid-October, following communication with officials from the Ministry of Health
and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), which
oversees the seat allocation process, is expected to announce the official
schedule on its website, mcc.nic.in.
Once released, candidates will be able to register, fill in their preferences,
and participate in the merit-based seat allotment process for postgraduate
courses including MD, MS, and PG diplomas.
The delay stems from ongoing legal
proceedings. Several petitions filed by candidates and the United Doctors Front
(UDF) are pending before the Supreme Court. The apex court has directed the
National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) to respond within
two weeks, a development that could directly impact the counselling timeline.
NEET PG, the gateway to India’s postgraduate medical admissions, holds immense significance for thousands of young doctors nationwide. With the schedule expected soon, candidates have been urged to keep essential documents, certificates, and identification proofs ready for a smooth registration process once counselling begins.
