North western railway opens doors for 898 apprentice vacancies, no exam required

North Western Railway (NWR) has officially launched recruitment for 898 apprentice positions across its divisions, offering candidates a rare opportunity to join the railways without a written examination. The application window opened on October 3, 2025, and interested candidates can apply online at nwr.indianrailways.gov.in until November 2, 2025.

Eligibility criteria: Candidates must be below 24 years of age, with relaxations for SC/ST (up to 5 years), OBC (3 years), and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (10 years). Educational requirements include at least 50% in Class 10 and a valid ITI certificate in the relevant trade, issued by either the NCVT or SCVT.

Application fees: A nominal fee of ₹100 applies to general candidates, while SC, ST, PWBD candidates and women are exempted.

1.     Visit the official RRC Jaipur portal – rrcjaipur.in.

2.     Click on the online application link on the homepage.

3.     Fill in the required details and upload documents.

4.     Pay the application fee (if applicable) and submit.

5.     Download and save the completed application for future reference.

Selection process: Candidates will be shortlisted purely on the basis of Class 10 marks and ITI scores, with merit lists prepared according to divisions, trades, and communities. Shortlisted candidates will then undergo medical examination and document verification.

According to the official notice, For the calculation of matriculation percentage, marks obtained in all subjects will be considered. For ITI, marks mentioned in the provisional/final certificate will be reckoned.

This recruitment drive presents a direct pathway for ITI graduates to secure a government apprenticeship, emphasizing merit over exams.
