A public online meeting of the Uttar Pradesh education department descended
into chaos last week when an explicit pornographic video was streamed
mid-session, forcing officials to abruptly exit. Authorities have since lodged
a police complaint against the unidentified perpetrators.
The incident unfolded on August 7 during an e-Chaupal session in Maharajganj district, held over Zoom
to address school-related grievances. The meeting, chaired by District
Magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma, brought together the basic education officer,
block education officers, headmasters, government teachers, and members of the
public.
Officials said the session was designed to
foster direct dialogue between citizens and the district administration on
education issues. But midway through, a participant logged in under the name
“Jason Junior” hijacked the screen share to play a pornographic video. Shocked
attendees, including senior officers, immediately left the call.
Adding to the disruption, another participant
— identified as “Arjun” — allegedly made objectionable remarks, though
officials did not disclose details.
Police are investigating the intrusion, which officials described as a deliberate attempt to derail a public service platform. The district administration has vowed stricter safeguards for future online meetings.
