The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has released the dates for the Class 10 annual examinations 2025 for Kashmir province, including Kargil district, while also granting a significant relaxation in the syllabus for Classes 10, 11 and 12.

According to the timetable issued by the Board, the exams will run from November 3 to November 27. Students will begin with Mathematics on November 3, followed by Social Science on November 7, Science on November 11, and English on November 14, with other subjects scheduled through the month, concluding with Painting, Art, and Drawing on November 27.

In a notification dated October 4, JKBOSE said students would be required to attempt only 85% of the question paper, which will be treated as the full 100%, effectively giving a 15% relaxation in the syllabus.

The decision applies to the upcoming October–November annual session in Kashmir Division, winter zone areas of Jammu Division, and the Union Territory of Ladakh.

The relaxation, the Board explained, was prompted by the delayed start of the academic year and repeated disruptions caused by extreme weather, including a heat wave, torrential rains, and floods.

The move follows recommendations from the Directorates of School Education in both Jammu and Kashmir, as well as appeals from stakeholders.

The Board clarified that while question papers will still be set from the entire syllabus, students will have internal choices, enabling them to attempt 85% of the marks.

Multiple-choice questions will be evaluated individually, and the same scheme will apply to grammar portions in language subjects.
