The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati will close the Graduate
Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 registration window October 6.
Candidates who have yet to apply must complete the process through the official
portal, gate2026.iitg.ac.in,
before midnight to avoid disqualification.
This year’s GATE, one of the most competitive
national-level entrance exams for postgraduate engineering and PSU
recruitments, will be conducted on February
7, 8, 14 and 15, 2026. Results will be declared on March 19, 2026.
The application is entirely online. Candidates
must log in with their Enrollment ID and password, fill in personal and
academic details, upload documents, pay the applicable fee, and download the
confirmation page.

Fee
(regular window):
– SC, ST, PwD, female candidates: ₹1,000 per paper
– All other categories: ₹2,000 per paper
GATE 2026 will feature 30 test papers, with a new section on Energy Science (XE-I) under the
Engineering Sciences stream. Candidates may opt for either one or two papers,
provided both fall under the approved combination list. All papers will be
conducted in English and consist solely of objective-type questions.
With IIT Guwahati leading the organization of this edition, aspirants are urged to complete their applications today itself to secure eligibility.
