In a swift move following allegations of malpractice in the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) graduate-level competitive exam held on September 21, 2025, a single-member inquiry commission submitted its interim report to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami recently.
The commission, headed by Justice (Retd.) UC Dhyani, conducted extensive
public hearings and collected inputs from candidates and concerned parties
before finalizing the report.
CM Dhami praised the commission for its timely
submission and stated that the government will carefully review its findings to
take decisions in the interest of candidates. A recommendation for a CBI probe
has already been made to ensure complete fairness and transparency in the
matter.
“The government remains committed to
maintaining the integrity, credibility, and transparency of all recruitment
examinations. Every effort will be made to prevent irregularities in the
future, so candidates and their families retain full confidence in the system,”
Dhami said.
Addressing the paper leak, the Chief Minister
emphasized swift action taken by his administration. Authorities promptly
arrested the accused and set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to
investigate the entire examination process.
“We are determined that the youth of
Uttarakhand do not face injustice,” he asserted, taking a dig at opposition
parties. Dhami accused rivals of politicizing the issue, stating, “Those who
once questioned CBI and ED probes are now demanding a CBI investigation here
for political mileage, using students as a shield to create unrest.”
The UKSSSC exam controversy has sparked intense scrutiny, prompting the state government to launch a judicially supervised probe to restore confidence and ensure fairness in future recruitment drives.
