The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the schedule
for Class 10 and 12 practical exams for the 2026 board session. For schools
following the winter-bound academic calendar, practical exams, project work,
and internal assessments will commence on November
6, 2025, and continue until December
6, 2025. Schools across India and abroad will start these assessments
from January 1, 2026.
The CBSE theory
exams for both classes are scheduled to begin on February 12, 2026. Schools have been
instructed to finalize the list of eligible candidates, emphasizing that only
students whose names appear in the online List of Candidates (LOC) will be
allowed to sit for practicals, projects, or internal assessments.
For efficient conduct, schools are asked to
organize students into batches of 30 per
subject, ensuring smooth assessment and mark submission. Larger
batches will be managed across two or
three sessions per day, allowing proper evaluation. Class 10 internal
assessments will be conducted only once,
making adherence to the schedule critical.
Schools must coordinate with regional CBSE
offices to appoint external examiners and
observers. Students who miss their assigned date may only appear for a
rescheduled assessment within the
official schedule. Absentees will be recorded as “Absent,” while those
taking exams on alternate dates will be marked “Re-scheduled.” The Board has
made it clear: no extensions or special
permissions will be granted beyond the notified dates.
With strict guidelines in place, CBSE aims to ensure fair and timely evaluation for all students ahead of the 2026 board examinations.
