News Story

The Telangana Government Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) has opened applications for private Arts stream candidates who wish to appear for the Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) 2026 without attending college.

Students can apply online at tgbie.cgg.gov.in until November 17, 2025. Those missing the deadline may still apply by November 29, with a late fee of ₹200. Applicants must also pay an exemption fee of ₹500 during registration to take the exam independently.

According to TGBIE, applications submitted by post or in person will not be accepted, and incomplete forms or missing documents will result in automatic rejection without further notice.

Required uploads include SSC pass certificates, transfer certificates, and migration or eligibility certificates for students from other boards.

The board reaffirmed that practical and internal assessments in English (Part I) will continue as per the Practical Manual: A Handbook of Communicative English.

These assessments, introduced for first-year students in IPE March 2024 and extended to second-year students in IPE March 2025, remain in force for both General and Vocational streams.

Eligibility criteria for IPE March 2026

·        Students must have at least a one-year gap after passing SSC or its equivalent to appear for the first-year Intermediate exam.

·        Those with a two-year or longer gap may take both first- and second-year exams together.

·        Students who failed second-year exams and wish to change optional subjects—either from Science to Arts/Humanities or within Humanities—must apply for attendance exemption.

·        Candidates who have already passed both years may reappear for the Second Language as an additional subject.

·        Students from non-Telangana SSC boards must obtain an Eligibility Certificate from TGBIE, Hyderabad, and upload it along with their exemption form.

All private candidates will appear for the exams under the same syllabus prescribed for regular students.
