News Story

The Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA), has launched an ambitious new initiative — The Social Media Influencer Programme — a 25-week online course designed to professionalise India’s rapidly expanding creator economy and equip digital creators with the strategic tools to build long-term, sustainable careers.

Targeted at both aspiring and established content creators, the programme bridges the gap between creative passion and strategic business acumen in an industry now valued at over $250 billion globally. It blends academic depth with hands-on learning across key domains such as personal branding, content strategy, audience engagement, and generative AI-driven content creation.

Academic insight meets real-world experience

Helmed by MICA faculty Dr. Falguni Vasavada and Prof. Siddharth Deshmukh, both active digital creators, the course combines classroom frameworks with lived insights from the creator landscape. Adding an industry edge, Viraj Sheth, Co-founder and CEO of Monk Entertainment, joins as the programme’s expert mentor. He will lead two masterclasses on Media Training for Digital Thought Leaders and Multi-Platform Content Distribution & Growth Strategy, focusing on authenticity, brand partnerships, and scaling influence.

Paid internship and industry exposure

In a first-of-its-kind opportunity, five participants will secure paid internships with Monk Entertainment in Mumbai, gaining first-hand exposure to creator management, digital campaigns, and brand collaborations.

Programme structure and details

Conducted fully online, the 25-week course allows participants to continue their professional or creative pursuits while learning. Classes begin December 28, 2025, with a fee of Rs 1,00,500 plus GST. The curriculum covers platform algorithms, monetisation strategies, and growth planning, supported by mentorship and live sessions with industry leaders.

MICA said the initiative reflects its mission to integrate marketing, communication, and technology — redefining influence not by follower counts, but by credibility, consistency, and real impact.
