The Indian Institute of Management
Ahmedabad (IIM-A) has launched a first-of-its-kind, two-year blended MBA in
Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, marking a major expansion of
its future-facing management education portfolio. The programme was formally
announced on November 6 at the institute’s campus.
Designed for working professionals
and entrepreneurs, the degree aims to equip learners with advanced analytical
and AI-driven competencies alongside strategic, managerial and leadership
skills. According to the institute, the initiative underscores IIM-A’s
long-standing commitment to designing globally benchmarked programmes that
respond to rapidly evolving industry demands.
Delivered in a blended format, the
programme combines live, direct-to-device sessions with three curated on-campus
modules at IIM-A. Learners will be guided by globally recognised faculty and
benefit from deep peer engagement.
Structured across three terms each
year, the curriculum mixes core management concepts with cutting-edge analytics
and AI, delivered through case-based discussions, capstone modules and
action-learning projects.
Participants can choose from 20
electives across domains such as predictive and prescriptive analytics, product
management, finance and risk management, human–AI collaboration, change
management, AI ethics and regulation, supply chain digitisation, generative AI
and agentic AI.
True to IIM-A’s distinctive
pedagogy, the case method will bring real-world strategic, operational and
governance dilemmas into the virtual classroom, enabling learners to apply
analytical tools to practical business challenges.
Students will also receive remote
access to IIM-A’s learning infrastructure, including the Vikram Sarabhai
Library, advanced computing facilities and an extensive suite of databases. A
flexible exit option at the end of the first year enables participants to earn
a Post Graduate Diploma. Successful graduates will join the globally recognised
IIM-A alumni network.
Eligibility criteria include a
Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks, or professional qualifications such
as CA, CS, ICWA or CMA with equivalent academic performance. Applicants must
also have two to three years of full-time work experience, depending on their
academic pathway.
Candidates may apply with valid CAT,
GMAT or GRE scores (taken between January 1, 2021 and the application
deadline). Those without these scores can appear for the Round-1 IIMA Admission
Test for the BPGP: BA & AI on December 14, 2025.
