News Story

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued a revised and accelerated schedule for Round 2 of Neet PG 2025 counselling for the 50% All India Quota (AIQ), shifting key dates and urging candidates to prepare for a tighter timeline.

According to the updated notification, Round 2 online registration will now open at 12 pm on December 5 and remain active until 12 noon on December 9, with the payment gateway accessible until 3 pm the same day.

Choice filling and locking will begin on December 6 and continue until 11:55 pm on December 9, while the dedicated choice-locking window will remain open from 4 pm to 11:55 pm on December 9.

Seat allotment processing has been scheduled for December 10 and 11, with the results to be declared on December 12, 2025.

Joined-candidates verification to follow

Candidates allotted seats will need to report to their respective institutions between December 13 and 21. Verification of data for those who join will be conducted from December 22 to 23.

These changes come as part of the MCC’s four-round counselling structure, which includes Round 3 and an Online Stray Vacancy Round, depending on seat availability.

The revised schedule follows earlier modifications to the seat matrix, in which 239 PG seats were added across deemed universities while 235 PG-DNB seats were removed from government and private colleges.

Round 2: Key dates

·        Registration opens: December 5 (12 pm)

·        Payment deadline: December 9 (3 pm)

·        Choice filling and locking: December 6–9

·        Seat allotment result: December 12

·        Reporting/joining: December 13–21

·        Data verification: December 22–23

How to register

Eligible candidates must visit the official MCC portal — mcc.nic.in — navigate to the PG Medical section and complete the “New Registration 2025” process using their Neet PG roll number and password. Only those who finish registration, fee payment, and choice filling within the specified windows will be considered for allocation.

What candidates must keep in mind

The timeline has been restructured following updates to the seat matrix and regulatory requirements. The MCC has urged candidates to strictly adhere to the new deadlines, warning that missing any step — registration, payment, choice filling or locking — will lead to exclusion from Round 2.

All activities must be completed exclusively through the official portal, where the updated schedule is now available.
