News Story

In a significant outreach to competitive exam aspirants, Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is set to launch free coaching classes for students preparing for major government recruitment examinations across Madhya Pradesh.

The initiative, titled “Mama Coaching Classes,” will formally begin on March 5 in Vidisha, Raisen and Bhairuunda districts. It aims to provide structured, high-quality academic support to students aspiring to clear banking, civil services and other key competitive examinations — without the financial burden often associated with private coaching institutes.

The announcement comes ahead of Chouhan’s birthday on March 5, which will be observed in Vidisha as Prem-Seva Sankalp Diwas. Education and talent promotion form a central pillar among the five pledges he plans to undertake on the occasion, with the coaching programme positioned as a tangible step toward expanding opportunities for youth.

Focus on national and state-level exams

The programme will offer systematic preparation for examinations conducted by bodies such as the Staff Selection Commission, Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission, Defense Research and Development Organization and Forest Services, along with various banking recruitment boards.

By strengthening conceptual clarity, exam strategy and disciplined preparation, the initiative seeks to enhance students’ competitiveness in both national and state-level recruitment tests.

Launching the programme in Vidisha, Raisen and Bhairuunda reflects a targeted approach toward districts where many aspirants often rely on self-study due to limited access to organised coaching infrastructure.

Free access to ease financial pressure

Officials associated with the initiative emphasize that the free coaching model is designed to reduce the economic strain on families, particularly those unable to afford expensive private institutes. By widening access, the programme aims to create a more level playing field for students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds seeking government and professional careers.

The initiative is being framed as a long-term investment in youth development, employability and talent nurturing across the region.

Talent recognition scheme announced

Alongside the coaching launch, Chouhan will also introduce “Prem-Sundar Pratibha Samman” in memory of his parents.

Under the scheme, Class 10 and 12 toppers across eight Vidisha Lok Sabha constituencies will receive cash awards of ₹51,000, Rs 31,000 and ₹21,000 respectively. The top three performers at the Lok Sabha level will be conferred special prizes.

While healthcare and social initiatives are also slated for announcement, the central thrust of the March 5 programme remains firmly on expanding educational access and formally recognizing academic excellence — a move that underscores a broader push toward youth empowerment in Madhya Pradesh.
