The Institute of Chartered Accountants of
India (ICAI) on March 8 announced the results for the CA Foundation and CA Intermediate January 2026
examinations, revealing a highly competitive outcome with a pass
percentage of 19.23% in the
Foundation exam.
In the CA
Intermediate January 2026 examination, Kanhiya Lal from Ellenabad secured All India Rank (AIR) 1, scoring 508 out of 600 marks (84.67%).
He was followed closely by Fathima Sheza K from Perintalmann, who
secured AIR 2 with 504 marks (84%), while Vanya Bansal from Faridabad claimed AIR 3 with 498 marks (83%).
The toppers delivered strong performances
across core subjects including accounting,
auditing, taxation and law, reflecting consistent preparation and a
strong grasp of concepts required for one of India’s toughest professional
examinations.
According to ICAI data, 109,694 candidates appeared for the CA Foundation January 2026 exam, out of
which 21,099 candidates cleared the test,
taking the overall pass percentage to
19.23 per cent.
The examination was conducted at 566 centres across India, allowing
candidates from diverse regions to participate.
Result statistics also showed that male candidates recorded a slightly higher pass %
than female candidates in this session.
The CA Foundation exam marks the first stage of the Chartered Accountancy course, making it a crucial gateway for students aspiring to become chartered accountants in India.
