Chief Minister M K Stalin on March 10
inaugurated the Statue of Education
at the iconic Marina Beach, marking a
symbolic tribute to learning and intellectual progress in the State.
Installed along the bustling seafront promenade,
the newly unveiled statue is intended to stand as a public reminder of
education’s role in shaping individuals and strengthening society. The monument
reflects Tamil Nadu’s long-standing emphasis on academic advancement and social
mobility through learning.
Speaking briefly at the inauguration, Stalin
underscored the transformative power of education and urged students to pursue
knowledge with determination. He said academic achievement remains central to
building a progressive and inclusive society.
The event drew the presence of government officials, educators and members of the public, many of whom welcomed the initiative as a meaningful homage to scholarship and the pursuit of knowledge. Observers noted that placing the statue at one of Chennai’s most visited public spaces reinforces the message that education is both a personal aspiration and a collective social value.
