News Story

Nottingham Trent University (NTU) has unveiled a major scholarship programme for Indian students, offering financial support of up to £15,350, including tuition fee waivers of up to 50% for eligible candidates enrolling in 2026.

The university confirmed that applications will be assessed across three rounds, with deadlines set for March 25, April 22 and June 24, 2026. Applicants have been advised to apply early to ensure sufficient time for visa processing and academic arrangements.

NTU’s flagship Excellence Scholarships are awarded on a competitive, merit-based basis, recognising strong academic performance, leadership potential and a demonstrated ability to contribute to the university community.

To qualify, applicants must first secure an offer for an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate course at NTU and be classified as an international student for fee purposes. The scholarships are open to students joining the first year of a new course or entering directly into the second or third year of an undergraduate programme in January or September 2026.

Students already enrolled before September 2026 or those repeating their first year are not eligible.

Undergraduate awards

Undergraduate students can receive a 50% or 25% tuition fee waiver in the first year, followed by £3,000 annually in subsequent years. The total financial support can reach up to £15,350 (50%) or £10,675 (25%) over the duration of the degree.

Postgraduate awards

For postgraduate programmes, scholarships range from £2,000 to £12,500, depending on the course and level of award.

Key conditions

NTU clarified that students awarded multiple scholarships or bursaries will receive only the highest-value award, except in cases involving Sport Scholarships or Alumni discounts, provided the total does not exceed 50% of first-year tuition fees.

Scholarships granted for multiple years will be applied at the start of each academic year and are contingent on successful progression. They are paused during placement years and resume in the final year.

While awards may be transferred between courses within the same academic school and year, transfers across different schools or academic years are not permitted.
