The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has announced that the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026 will be conducted from July 2 to 4, marking a key step in the state’s efforts to streamline teacher recruitment.

As per the notification issued on March 20, the application process for both primary (Classes 1 to 5) and upper primary (Classes 6 to 8) levels will commence on March 27 and continue until April 26.

Candidates will be able to make corrections to their application forms and address fee-related issues until May 1, providing a limited window to rectify errors.

Commission chairman Prashant Kumar said a One-Time Registration (OTR) system has been introduced this year to enhance transparency, improve efficiency, and make the process more candidate-friendly. The system is expected to minimise malpractices and speed up the overall recruitment cycle.

Deputy Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh said the examination will be conducted in a time-bound manner, underscoring the government’s intent to accelerate teacher appointments across the state.

Aspirants have been advised to carefully review the detailed notification and instructions available on the official website before submitting their applications.

Officials said the initiative is in line with the state government’s broader focus on strengthening the education sector while creating employment opportunities for youth through timely recruitment of qualified teachers.
