News Story

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has commenced the online submission process for the June 2026 Term-End Examinations (TEE), issuing detailed guidelines and cautioning students against missing deadlines or making errors in their applications.

According to the official notification, the June 2026 TEE will begin from June 1 and will be conducted in both pen-and-paper and computer-based test (CBT) modes for students enrolled in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online programmes.

Application timeline and fee

Students can submit their examination forms through the Samarth portal from March 10 to April 10 without any late fee. A late fee of ₹1,100 will be applicable for submissions made between April 11 and April 24. The university has made it clear that no extension will be granted beyond the stipulated deadlines.

Strict rules for form submission

Candidates are required to apply via the official student portal, with prior registration being mandatory for those not yet enrolled on the platform. While filling out the form, students must carefully select their exam mode, courses, and preferred examination centre.

IGNOU has categorically stated that no requests for changes in examination centre or selected courses will be entertained after the submission of forms, underscoring the need for accuracy during the application process.

Key advisories for students

The university has advised candidates to check their December 2025 TEE results before applying and ensure the validity of their programme. Students must also thoroughly read all instructions available on the Samarth portal, as fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

For practical or lab-based courses, including BLIS, candidates have been directed to contact their respective regional centres for details regarding examination venues and schedules.

No relief in case of clashes

In a significant clarification, IGNOU stated that requests regarding date clashes due to backlog papers or courses from the same group will not be considered. The university, however, retains the authority to reschedule or cancel examinations in unavoidable situations.

Students facing difficulties during the application process have been advised to seek assistance from their regional centres or contact the university through official support channels.
