The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) has cancelled the Class 12 Hindi board examination conducted on March 14, 2026, following allegations of a question paper leak, and announced a re-examination on April 10.

In an official notification, the board said the Higher Secondary Certificate (Class 12) Hindi paper (Code 010/810) has been declared “null and void” after reports suggested that the question paper had circulated prior to the exam.

The issue surfaced on March 15 and 16, when claims of the paper going viral on social media emerged, prompting authorities to register an FIR and initiate a detailed investigation.

The decision to cancel the examination was taken at a meeting of the board’s examination committee held on March 23, 2026.

After reviewing available evidence and reports, the committee concluded that the sanctity of the examination had been compromised, necessitating a re-test in the interest of fairness and transparency.

“In accordance with the committee’s recommendation, the Hindi subject examination conducted on March 14 stands cancelled,” the board said, confirming that a fresh examination will be conducted.

The re-examination is scheduled for April 10, 2026 (Friday), with timings unchanged from 9:00 am to 12:15 pm. Students have been instructed to be seated at their respective centres by 9:00 am.

Answer sheets will be distributed at 9:00 am, followed by question papers at 9:05 am. Candidates will be given five minutes to read the paper before writing begins at 9:15 am.

The board further clarified that the re-test will strictly adhere to the prescribed Class 12 syllabus and existing examination guidelines.

It also stated that the schedule will remain unaffected even if any local or administrative holiday is declared on the day of the examination.
