The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) has cancelled the
Class 12 Hindi examination for the 2026 board cycle after allegations of a
question paper leak, announcing a re-examination on April 10.
In an official notification, the board declared
the Higher Secondary Certificate (Class 12) Hindi paper (code 010/810),
conducted on March 14, as “null and void”. The move follows claims that the
paper had circulated on social media before the exam, raising serious concerns
over fairness.
The controversy surfaced on March 15 and 16,
when posts alleging a pre-exam leak went viral. Acting on the complaints,
authorities registered an FIR and initiated a detailed probe into the matter.
CGBSE said the decision was finalized during an
examination committee meeting held on March 23, 2026. After reviewing available
evidence and reports, the panel concluded that the sanctity of the examination
had been compromised, necessitating a re-test in the interest of transparency
and equity.
“In accordance with the committee’s decision,
the Hindi subject examination conducted on March 14 is hereby cancelled,” the
board stated, confirming that a fresh exam will be held on a revised date.
Revised
schedule and guidelines
The re-examination will take place on April
10, 2026 (Friday), from 9 am to 12:15 pm.
Students are required to be seated at their
designated centres by 9 am. Answer sheets will be distributed at 9 am, followed
by question papers at 9:05 am. Candidates will get five minutes to read the
paper from 9:05 am to 9:10 am, with writing beginning at 9:15 am and concluding
at 12:15 pm.
The board clarified that the exam will adhere strictly to the prescribed Class 12 syllabus and existing guidelines. It also noted that the schedule will remain unchanged even if any local or administrative holiday is declared.
