The application process for the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026 will commence on March 27, with the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission formally opening registrations on its official portal.

Candidates aspiring to teach Classes 1 to 8 in government and aided schools across Uttar Pradesh can apply online at Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission once the window goes live.

In a key procedural shift, the commission has made One Time Registration (OTR) compulsory this year. Applicants must complete OTR before filling out the application form, failing which their submissions will not be accepted. Officials have urged candidates to complete this step early to avoid last-minute technical issues.

The deadline to submit applications and pay the examination fee is April 26, 2026. Candidates will also be able to make corrections to their forms and resolve fee-related issues, including bank reconciliation, until May 1.

According to the schedule, the UPTET 2026 examination will be conducted over three days — July 2, 3 and 4 — at centres across the state. The test will be held for two levels: Primary (Classes 1 to 5) and Upper Primary (Classes 6 to 8).

Qualifying UPTET remains a critical requirement for teacher recruitment in Uttar Pradesh, with the eligibility certificate serving as a gateway for appointments in government and aided schools.

Aspirants are advised to carefully review official guidelines, keep documents ready, and track updates on the commission’s website. Delays or incomplete submissions may lead to disqualification.

The last UPTET examination was conducted on January 23, 2022.

Meanwhile, UPESSC has also announced dates for other key recruitment exams. The Assistant Professor examination will be held on April 18 and 19, 2026, after multiple postponements and cancellation of earlier schedules. The Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) exam is slated for May 9 and 10, while the Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) examination will take place on June 3 and 4, 2026.
