News Story

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has commenced the registration process for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2026 for foreign nationals and OCI/PIO (F) candidates on its official website — jeeadv.ac.in.

The prestigious engineering entrance exam is scheduled to be held on May 17, 2026. Candidates completing the application process must pay the prescribed fee by May 4 to confirm their candidature.

This registration window is exclusively meant for foreign nationals and OCI/PIO candidates falling under the foreign category (OCI/PIO-F), and is separate from the process applicable to Indian candidates.

In a key distinction, eligible foreign and OCI/PIO (F) candidates are permitted to apply directly for JEE Advanced without qualifying JEE Main, subject to conditions outlined in the official information brochure.

The application process is entirely online. Applicants are required to submit personal details, nationality, passport or OCI/PIO credentials, and academic records, along with uploading necessary supporting documents.

As per guidelines, OCI/PIO candidates are categorised based on the issuance timeline of their cards. Those applying under the OCI/PIO (F) category will be treated on par with foreign nationals and will be eligible only for foreign supernumerary seats in IITs. They will not be entitled to reservation benefits available to Indian candidates.

The registration fee differs for candidates from SAARC and non-SAARC countries.

Admit cards will be available for download between May 11 and May 17, 2026.

Meanwhile, registration for candidates qualifying JEE Main 2026 will open on April 23 and close on May 2. The final answer key and results of JEE Advanced 2026 are scheduled to be announced on June 1.
