News Story

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the provisional answer key for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.) of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 Session 2 on April 11. Candidates who appeared for the April session can now access their response sheets and answer keys by logging in at the official website — jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Alongside the release, the NTA has opened the objection window, allowing candidates to challenge any discrepancies in the provisional key. The agency conducted Session 2 of JEE Main 2026 from April 2 to April 8 in computer-based mode across 566 examination centres in 304 cities in India and 14 cities abroad, with around 11.23 lakh candidates appearing for the exam.

To raise objections, candidates are required to pay a non-refundable processing fee of ₹200 per question challenged. The NTA will review all submitted challenges before publishing the final answer key on April 20, 2026. If any objections are found valid, the answer key will be revised accordingly.

How to raise objections

The NTA clarified that no individual communication will be sent regarding the acceptance or rejection of challenges. The final answer key, once released after scrutiny, will be binding, and no further objections will be entertained.

Results for JEE Main 2026 will be compiled based on the revised final answer key, taking into account performance across both sessions, in line with NTA policy.
