Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi, has launched a
postgraduate programme in Mass Communication in weekend mode, offering working professionals a chance to
pursue advanced studies without interrupting their careers.
The two-year programme, to be offered at the
University School of Mass Communication (USMC), East Campus, will admit 60
students annually, with an annual fee of ₹95,000. Diploma holders in Mass
Communication will be eligible for lateral entry, allowing them to complete the
course in one year.
Applications are open on the university’s
website, with submissions — including a filled form and a bank draft of ₹2,500
in favour of the Registrar — to be made at the Dwarka Campus by September 4. Eligibility requires a
bachelor’s degree in any discipline, with admissions determined through a 70:30
ratio of undergraduate marks and interview performance.
USMC Dean Prof Durgesh Tripathi said the move comes in response to persistent demands from working journalists seeking a structured academic upgrade without leaving their jobs. The university emphasized that the weekend format has been specifically designed to balance academic rigor with professional commitments.
