In a major boost for aspiring doctors and engineers from the region, the Rajnandgaon district administration has rolled out a free coaching initiative to prepare 600 students for the highly competitive NEET and JEE entrance examinations.

The programme, launched on Thursday, will form 10 learning clusters across the city, offering structured training to Class 11 and 12 students.

The sessions, conducted both online and offline, are designed to supplement regular schooling without hampering academic schedules.

“Free coaching for NEET and JEE has begun to ensure that every student has access to quality preparation facilities.

Ten clusters are being formed to train 600 students, providing them with exposure and guidance,” District Collector Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure was quoted as saying by ANI.

Students say the initiative is already bridging gaps. “I am preparing for NEET after opting for Biology in Class 11. The free coaching is helping us not just with competitive exams but also in covering our Class 12 syllabus effectively,” said Iksha Devangan, one of the beneficiaries.

Another participant, Saksham Devangan, noted that the sessions—held on weekends—are comprehensive yet flexible. “Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Hindi, and English are all being taught here. It’s a big support for students like us since it’s completely free and does not affect our regular studies,” he said.

The move is particularly significant in a state where access to quality coaching often remains limited to big cities.

With NEET serving as the gateway to medical courses across disciplines and JEE as the route to premier engineering institutes including the IITs, the free coaching scheme could open doors for hundreds of students from Rajnandgaon to pursue their career ambitions.
