The scheme covers eligible students belonging to General, SC, ST, OBC and minority communities. Students must meet the prescribed eligibility conditions for their respective scholarship category before submitting the application.
After submission, the scholarship application goes through multiple levels of verification before the scholarship amount is released.
The major stages include:
School-level verification: The school verifies the student's application details and forwards eligible applications for further processing.
District-level verification: The concerned district authority verifies student details and beneficiary information.
NIC scrutiny: The National Informatics Centre (NIC) conducts technical scrutiny to identify errors or discrepancies in the submitted data.
Final approval: The district-level committee reviews and finalises the verified list of eligible beneficiaries.
Scholarship disbursement: After approval, the scholarship amount is transferred directly to the student's Aadhaar-linked bank account, subject to the applicable payment process.
Students should keep the required documents and information ready before applying. They should carefully enter their personal, academic and bank account details and ensure that the information matches their official records.
Applicants should also complete the required verification process through their respective institutions within the prescribed timeline. Any errors or discrepancies in the application may affect verification and scholarship disbursement.
