New Delhi: The University of Hyderabad (UoH) has launched two new online certificate courses aimed at expanding access to quality education through digital learning.The newly introduced programmes focus on learning Sanskrit using computational tools and advanced malaria biology, offering learners an opportunity to gain specialised knowledge from experts in their respective fields.
The initiative reflects the university's continued focus on expanding digital education and making specialised learning opportunities accessible to a wider audience.
The online certificate programmes were inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor J. Anuradha and will be delivered through the university's Centre for Digital Learning, Training & Resources (CDLTR). The initiative is part of the university's efforts to make higher education more accessible to learners across India and abroad.
The University of Hyderabad has introduced the following online certificate programmes:
Samsadhani Praveshikka: Learning Sanskrit Using Computational Tools
Advanced Malariology: Biology of Parasitism and Drug Resistance
According to the university, both courses have been designed and will be taught by subject experts, combining academic knowledge with practical learning. The programmes are expected to benefit students, researchers, teachers, and professionals interested in these specialized fields.
Speaking at the launch event, Salman Abdul Moiz, Director of CDLTR, said the university aims to take its academic expertise to a global audience through online education.
He stated that the University of Hyderabad will soon introduce online undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes, allowing more students to access quality education without geographical limitations.
The Vice-Chancellor also inaugurated an additional video recording studio at CDLTR, which will support the development and delivery of high-quality online learning content.
The university has also announced plans to conduct faculty development programmes in a phased manner. These training initiatives are intended to help faculty members design and deliver online courses effectively.
The online certificate programmes are being offered through CDLTR, the university's dedicated centre for digital education and training.
University officials said digital learning continues to play a crucial role in improving access to higher education, especially for learners who cannot attend regular on-campus classes. The university is expected to expand its online academic offerings in the coming months as part of its digital education initiatives.
Recently, the University of Hyderabad also opened admissions for 17 undergraduate and integrated postgraduate programmes for the 2026-27 academic session, with admissions based on CUET UG 2026 scores.
